The Good Daughter – Karen Slaughter

The Good Daughter is Karin Slaughter’s most recent book about a family and their secrets. Some secrets are 28 years old and some are more recent. Twenty-eight years ago they suffered several horrific and even fatal occurrences, that altered everything.

Charlotte, now grown up and following her father’s footsteps now finds herself smack dab in the middle of another fatal situation. But this one not only brings back all those terrible memories, it also opens wounds where secrets seep out, secrets that have put her relationship on the brink of destruction, secrets that she’s been keeping, and even secrets that other’s have had all this time.

Charlotte finds that people aren’t who she thought they were and that she is stronger than she ever thought. The hits don’t stop coming with this book and it was hard to put it down. Twists and turns, and all the feels.

The Wife Between Us – Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pakkanene is a book that, halfway through, makes you question what the hell is going on. Everything you thought you understood is questioned, especially the characters and who they represent.

But no worries, it all makes sense just a chapter or two later. Past meets present in the twisting tale about Vanessa, on the crutch of alcohol and jealousy, and her ex-husband Richard.

Initially, you think you are in bunny-on-a-stove territory but thrilling revelations spin this tale into one of a savior.

This book has been picked up by the same film-makers of Girl On A Train, (which I loved as well – the movie and the book, always the book first) which is no surprise as it is one that will be perfect for film with the shocks within. So be on the look out!

Well that was fun. Clearly I love movies as well. But to be serious, if you love to read, I would love for you to join my book club on Facebook, called Women, Wine & Words. We love psychological thrillers the most and try our best to read two or three books per month. If you don’t care to join on facebook, you can tag along reading my brief reviews here.

So, grab a glass of my favorite Peach Moscato and snuggle in for a great book.

Be sure to share below in the comments: what you are reading currently, what you would like to read with us or what your favorite wine is! I am always looking to try out new wines and never discriminate!
